La Tuque Bleue is
a band made of three cousins (Stéphane Malette, Christian
Lavergne, Benoît Massie), two brothers
(Mathieu Renaud, Michaël Renaud), and
a childhood friend (Marc-Antoine Otis). The
strengths of the band are the harmony between
the musicians, the richness of their new
album Temps d’agrément (meaning “pleasant
times”), the musicians’ instrumental
talent, but also the energy they convey on
stage.
Mario
Boulianne, from Le Droit, wrote “… try
so stay still, without moving, for 10 minutes.
I’d bet anything you won’t resist
this music after a while…” The
energy of the musicians moving on stage,
their obvious passion for traditional music,
and their cheerful and fraternal attitude
are such that any audience would fall under
the spell of the six young men.
Besides,
pleasant times have come for the members
of the band as the new album has sold five
thousand copies during Christmas season.
Welcomed with open arms by the medias, both
in the Ottawa Valley and in Montreal, the
album Temps d’agrément is
meant to become a classic of traditional
music, and beyond.
The
third European tour was a success, the fan
club is flourishing in the Ottawa Valley,
the technical team is qualified and dynamic,
the band’s music reaches a wide public,
and the musicians, all in their mid-twenties,
are close and enthusiast. Therefore, La
Tuque Bleue features everything it needs
to become a great band, both in Quebec and
elsewhere.
