Latin Renaissance woman and pianist/composer Rebeca Mauleón fronts her powerhouse Afro Kuban Fusion ensemble in a musical melting pot of fiery Cuban rhythms, African chants and blazing jazz-rock melodies.  Featuring timbales legend Orestes Vilató (Santana, Cachao), Cuban drum sensation Jimmy Branly (Strunz and Farah), virtuoso bassist Gary Brown (Flora & Airto) and guitar icon Vernon Black (Herbie Hancock, Whitney Houston), Mauleón leads her extraordinary band through a highly explosive repertoire and lets her players cut loose.  Combining the traditional sounds of Afro-Cuban music melded with Jazz, Rock and world textures,  Afro Kuban Fusion is one of the most eclectic and electrifying bands around today. Rounding out the line-up are percussionist and vocalist Jesús Diaz (QBA), trumpeter Mike Olmos, trombonist Marty Wehner and vocalist/percussionist Eric Barbería. Rebeca continues to maintain her place as one of Latin music’s “hippest band leaders” (All Music Guide)
