The Monterey Jazz Festival has established an Endowment Fund in honor of one of Monterey's most beloved musicians and teachers, Bob Phillips, whose life of service through music has enriched our community for over 30 years. With the generosity of his family's matching lead gift of $50,000, the Fund will help sustain, in perpetuity, MJF's Monterey County High School All-Star Band and allow every student selected for this honor to participate regardless of financial situation.

Each year, 21 Monterey County high school students are chosen from over 28 schools to be members of the MJF All-Star Band. The Band performs in the community, at MJF's Next Generation Festival, at festivals abroad, and on the stages of the Monterey Jazz Festival in September. We invite you to join in helping MJF match this lead gift.
