The Next Generation Jazz Festival Gala to benefit the Monterey
Jazz Festival’s Education Program includes a special wine
and hors d’oeuvres reception, silent auction, raffle, dinner,
reserved Judges Concert front rows seating, and post-concert
dessert reception and after-party with Next Generation Jazz Festival
artists and adjudicators.
The first Monterey Jazz Festival Jazz Champion Award will be
presented to Dr. Rob Klevan for his passionate devotion and remarkable
contribution to the Monterey Bay’s musical landscape.

This annual standing-room-only event will feature performances
by internationally-renowned artists and Festival competition judges:
trumpeter Terell Stafford; saxophonists Mary Fettig and Joel Frahm;
pianist Helen Sung; guitarist Bruce Forman; bassist Ray Drummond;
trombonist Luis Bonilla; drummer Matt Wilson; vocalists Michelle
Weir and Mardra Thomas, and others. Also included is a special
pre-concert performance by the Marika Galea Quartet from the Berklee
College of Music.
In addition to reserved front
rows seating for the Judges Concert, this $50 ticket also includes
an invitation to the exclusive post-concert dessert reception
and after-party with Next Generation Jazz Festival artists and
