THE FUTURE OF JAZZ COMES TO MONTEREY THIS SPRING!

Come celebrate the future of jazz at our 8th Annual Next Generation Festival, March 30 – April 1, 2012 in downtown Monterey. Entries are now being accepted for our Next Generation Festival Jazz Competition, with top groups playing at the 55th Annual Monterey Jazz Festival.

Categories include Middle School, High School, and College Big Bands; High School and College Vocal Ensembles; High School Combos; Conglomerate Big Bands; and Open Combos, open to any combination of College and/or Conglomerate High School ensembles. High School composers can enter our Composition Competition, with the winning piece to be premiered at the Festival. And all student musicians are invited to audition for our Next Generation Jazz Orchestra, performing on a summer tour of Japan, and at the 55th Annual Monterey Jazz Festival.
