Dear Jazz Fans:
Together, we have reached a major milestone in providing 40
years of life-changing jazz education programs to thousands of
students from coast to coast. These programs help the
Monterey Jazz Festival preserve the legacy of jazz and expand the
boundaries of and opportunities to experience jazz across all audiences.
Last year, jazz supporters like you made it possible for us to
offer free clinics to hundreds of deserving young musicians with
two-time GRAMMY nominee, saxophonist and 2011 Monterey Jazz Festival
Artist-In-Residence, Joshua
Redman during our three-day Next
Generation Jazz Festival in April and our two-week
intensive Summer
Jazz Camp in June. To broaden the reach of our programs
and deepen the learning experience for all students, we have leveraged
the use of cutting-edge technology by making our Digital
Music Education Project available online at no cost
and in our new free iPhone/Android
smartphone Apps. One of our 21-piece national high
school Next
Generation Jazz Orchestra members who toured the West
Coast this year said, “Everything was amazing and a fun learning
experience!” These are only a few of the many reasons why
your financial contribution to the Monterey Jazz Festival is one
of the best ways to encourage and support thousands of young students
around the United States.
Every gift counts. This holiday, give
to our life-changing jazz education programs and your gift will
be matched dollar-for-dollar, having twice the impact in our efforts
to ensure the future of jazz.
Through the Jazz Ambassadors’ Challenge
and select grantors, gifts received between now and December
31 will be matched up to $50,000.
Please don’t delay! This matching gift challenge will be
over soon.

Make a convenient online tax-deductible contribution
or call 831.373.3366.
Thank you very much for considering this timely
request and for giving as generously and as often as you can.
Happy Holidays!
