"[Ray Obiedo] ... has drenched his Latin-American rhythms not just in Afro-Caribbean beats, but very pointedly in West-Coast cool ... a magical musical tapestry of wondrous colours and textures." — Latin Jazz Network

Contemporary jazz composer and guitarist Ray Obiedo has been a force in the San Francisco Bay Area since the 1970s when he was a member in the groups of Herbie Hancock, Pete Escovedo, Sheila E., George Duke, Lou Rawls, Grover Washington Jr., and many others. His latest outing, the Latin Jazz Project, focuses on the highly-energized and hypnotically rhythmic soundscape, color and style of the Bay Area. Ray makes his first appearance at Monterey since 1995!
